Privacy policy

A clear explanation of why FrameShelf needs file access and which information remains solely on your device.

[ PRIVACY://LOCAL_ONLY ]

The essential point

FrameShelf operates locally on the user’s device. Quanetra does not collect, receive, sell, or share personal data or the contents of the user’s video library.

// file_access

File access

You explicitly choose a folder containing videos. Access covers that folder and its subfolders and is used only for app features:

  • reading filenames and basic video-file properties;
  • displaying local thumbnails and large previews;
  • opening movies in the default macOS application;
  • generating frame-capture images inside the selected folder;
  • renaming movies and related images after a direct tag edit.

Permission is stored on the device as a macOS security-scoped bookmark. Close Folder clears the current selection and its remembered access.

// on_device

Information stored on your device

01

Folder permission

A secure bookmark for the most recently selected folder allows the library to reopen after restarting the app.

02

Recent folders

A local list makes it easier to return to libraries you previously opened.

03

Favorites and history

Identifiers for favorite and recently opened movies remain in the app’s protected container.

04

View settings

The selected sort order and settings required by the app are stored locally.

This information is never transmitted to Quanetra. You can clear it from inside the app or by uninstalling it.

// network

Network, analytics, and tracking

FrameShelf contains no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or cloud services. It does not transmit movies, thumbnails, filenames, paths, or usage history to Quanetra or third parties.

// security

Security

App Sandbox and macOS system permissions limit access to locations selected by the user. Files are written only after a command to generate a JPEG or change tags.

Children and policy changes

The app is not specifically directed to children and does not collect personal data from children or other users. If app functionality or data practices change, this policy will be updated before the relevant version becomes available.
